"Hi John
"I wholeheartedly recommend John Hoff's video mini-course, "Secure
WordPress". After installing one of the security plugins John recommended,
imagine my surprise when I next logged into the Admin area of my website to
discover that there had been 8 unauthorised login attempts within just a few
days. And each attempt had been logged and noted by my newly-installed
plugin!
"John,
"Hi John,
"I've had the time to go through the first 40 pages of the ebook and so far I think it's full of great ways to protect my blog...none of which I had in place. In fact, just got the secure FTP set up this morning by my host and glad it was such a simple process. And was totally floored that backup plugins existed. So simple but I just never thought to look for them. Unless you are taking specific steps to defend your blog, you are taking too great a chance that one day you will discover your blog is wiped out and treated by Google and antivirus programs as a suspected attack/malware site. Don't think it won't happen to you: that's what everybody thinks until it's too late. Think about all the hard work you put into your blog — all wiped out in an instant. John Hoff is a frequent commenter here and on many of the other blogs I read. I had no idea he knew so much about WordPress security, but apparently his wife's jewelry site which ran on WordPress got hacked big time. Suddenly, they were losing a thousand dollars a month revenue because of it. John tells the story here where you can learn everything you need to about WordPress Defender so you can decide if it's right for you. Read more from Michael's site, Remarkablogger.com. Many of us bloggers prefer not to even think about our blog being hacked, let alone having to learn how to secure it. But as our blogs grow, and our traffic and page rank increases, it becomes imperative we either learn to protect our investment, or hire someone to do it for us. Like many of you, this is an area I also avoid, but with the “WORDPRESS DEFENDER” in my library, I know my blogs will soon be safe, secure and locked down. For all the work John has done on the ebook and videos, I’ll be forever grateful. Thank you, John. Read more from Blogging Without a Blog. One moment your blog is humming along fine, then all of a sudden you’re out of commission. You feel helpless. Your web host throws up their hands and says “It ain’t our problem, bud.” And you just want to KILL somebody. A long-time reader of my blog recently approached me with his new e-book… AND IT JUMPED RIGHT OUT AT ME AND SMACKED ME IN THE HEAD! Read more from David Risley. This is SO EASY to use. I’m not a coder and securing your blog is
definitely using code. John gives you every bit of code, a 150+ page book with 30 ways to protect your site, and John’s story of how his wife’s jewelry business was hacked is a real eye-opener – it’s not just about getting your site back up, he talks about the loss of income and the effect on his family, the destruction of their business reputation and the heartache caused by it all. With tools like WordPress, creating a website have never been easier. Unfortunately, most users don’t know anything about website security or even worst, don’t pay attention to it. Of course, if one day they visit their site and see something like below, they’ll regret the bad decision of not paying enough attention to their blog security. ![]() My personal advice on the book (WordPress Defender) Although great security tips can be found on the “Digging into WordPress” book and the WordPress Cookbook I wrote, the good point of WordPress Defender is that the book is 100% focused on the security concern. WordPress Defender is especially a great investment for beginners or people who don’t know a lot about websites security. Though, things are detailed deeply so WordPress experts will still have something new to learn. Read more from CatsWhoBlog. Anyone whose blog has been hacked knows the implications are greater than being temporarily disabled. Google may not like you any more, even though you've fixed yourself. All your hard work could be gone in an instant. Anti-virus and malware programs may treat you as a suspected site. Why wouldn't you want protection against potential disability from predators like these?
