Unless you are taking specific steps to defend your blog, you are taking too great a chance that one day you will discover your blog is wiped out and treated by Google and antivirus programs as a suspected attack/malware site. Don't think it won't happen to you: that's what everybody thinks until it's too late. Think about all the hard work you put into your blog — all wiped out in an instant.

John Hoff is a frequent commenter here and on many of the other blogs I read. I had no idea he knew so much about WordPress security, but apparently his wife's jewelry site which ran on WordPress got hacked big time. Suddenly, they were losing a thousand dollars a month revenue because of it. Many of us bloggers prefer not to even think about our blog being hacked, let alone having to learn how to secure it. But as our blogs grow, and our traffic and page rank increases, it becomes imperative we either learn to protect our investment, or hire someone to do it for us.

Like many of you, this is an area I also avoid, but with the “WORDPRESS DEFENDER” in my library, I know my blogs will soon be safe, secure and locked down.

Most websites owners are not security expert, and a lot of them don’t even know how to develop websites. With tools like WordPress, creating a website have never been easier. Unfortunately, most users don’t know anything about website security or even worst, don’t pay attention to it. Of course, if one day they visit their site and see something like below, they’ll regret the bad decision of not paying enough attention to their blog security.

My personal advice on the book (WordPress Defender)

Although great security tips can be found on the “Digging into WordPress” book and the WordPress Cookbook I wrote, the good point of WordPress Defender is that the book is 100% focused on the security concern. WordPress Defender is especially a great investment for beginners or people who don’t know a lot about websites security. Though, things are detailed deeply so WordPress experts will still have something new to learn.

Anyone whose blog has been hacked knows the implications are greater than being temporarily disabled. Google may not like you any more, even though you've fixed yourself. All your hard work could be gone in an instant. Anti-virus and malware programs may treat you as a suspected site. Why wouldn't you want protection against potential disability from predators like these?

Not only that but when you purchase WordPress Defender you also join his list and if there’s something about WordPress security you really need to know, John gets in touch and doesn’t spam you with this n that.

It really is worth the money. Have you ever got some quotes to fix a site after its been hacked? I think you’ll understand why his small fee of $39.00 for WordPress Defender is a steal

I have had 2 attack attempts on this blog at least. I wouldn't have known about them had I not installed a special plugin. I learned about that plugin from the WordPress security tips guide I recommend in this post.

The book is a new offering and the timing is good because attacks are becoming more and more of a problem online.

Some of the fixes it recommends are not ones that you know about most likely. You need to know about them.
